Preparation and Cryopreservation of PBMC

The blood collected in a heparinized vacutainer tubes (green top) is diluted in sterile PBS. Ficoll is added and then centrifuged. The white blood cells are harvested and washed with PBS. The pellets are resuspended in FCS or HSA and DMSO. Aliquots of cells are transferred into cryo vials and frozen into - 80°C freezer.
